It was a privilege to host the launch of the book Vote 4 Me by well known Canberra author, Krys Saclier and illustrator Cathy Wilcox, in my role as the Chair of the Parliamentary Friends of the Capital Region.

Krys used her expertise gained over many years of teaching thousands of children on how to vote, in her role as an electoral educator at the Australian Electoral Commission, to develop this smart book which assists young Australians to understand how our voting system works.

The book is wonderfully illustrated by renowned Australian political cartoonist Cathy Wilcox. Cathy recently took out the award for the 2020 Museum of Australian Democracy Political Cartoonist of the Year, and her fine talents are demonstrated in this colourful book.

Vote 4 Me is a very handy educational resource which clearly explains Australia’s preferential voting system, and is an essential addition for every home, school classroom and library.

I would encourage anyone with school aged children or even adults who wish to gain a better understanding of our preferential voting system to purchase a copy and I wish Krys and Cathy all the best.

Ends.
