Member for Bean David Smith today opened a new classroom at Canberra Montessori School which will improve student educational outcomes.

Mr Smith said work on the new facilities was delivered with support of Albanese Government funding of $396,835 through the Capital Grants Program.

“A lot of work has gone into this project which has delivered a new classroom with state-of-art fit-out, flexible child‑scaled furniture, Montessori‑aligned resources, and appropriate ICT infrastructure to support contemporary, student‑centred learning,” Mr Smith said.

“These new facilities will provide school staff, teachers and students at Canberra Montessori School with better, more modern spaces in which to work, teach and learn.”

“The Albanese Government is committed to providing all schools with appropriate funding so that all students, including those in Canberra Montessori School, Holder, get the best possible education.”

Mr Smith said the new facilities would benefit the students currently at Canberra Montessori School, as well as the many students to follow in the future years.

“The teachers, staff and students at Canberra Montessori School have built a strong and positive school community and these new facilities will further enhance our local educational opportunities,” Mr Smith said.

“Our Government strongly believes in providing the best possible resources so that local students can realise their potential and develop the skills they need to go on to further study or join the workforce.”
