Parliament is back this week and tonight is also Census night.

Over the past month, I have been out and about in the community meeting many of you and visiting schools, businesses, and community groups. Some of my highlights from the past month include: celebrating Early Learning Week and recognising early‑learning educators, training for this year’s Menslink Great Walk, hosting a number of school groups at Parliament House, and catching up with the Bean King’s Birthday Honours recipients.

July also saw the beginning of a new financial year and more help with the cost of living — from tax cuts, minimum and award wage increases, extending Paid Parental Leave, the introduction of Payday Super, extending the instant asset write‑off for small businesses, and making historic boosts to health care and hospital funding.
