The Albanese Government has invested record amounts into Medicare, cheaper medicines and public health.

Medicare Urgent Care Clinics permanent: Urgent Care Clinics, including the one in Woden, will now be a permanent part of Medicare. That means if you need urgent care for a cut, a burn, an infection, or something else that can’t wait — you can walk in, see a doctor or nurse, and pay nothing.

More bulk billing GP appointments: Improving access to bulk billing doctors is a priority. Just this week we announced two additional bulk billing GP clinics have opened in Bean, one in Conder and the other at an interim location in Phillip. There are now 23 fully bulk billing practices in the ACT.

New PBS medicine listings: PBS medicines will remain at a maximum of $25 for a script, or $7.70 for concession card holders. Ten new medicines will be added to the PBS, including medicines for severe asthma, type 1 diabetes, lymphoma and other conditions.

Public hospital funding increases: The Australian Government is investing an additional $25 billion for public hospitals. Commonwealth funding for state-run public hospitals will reach a record $220 billion from 2026–27 to 2030–31.

My Health Record pathology and imaging changes: From tomorrow, pathology and imaging reports must be uploaded to My Health Record by default. These changes will help ensure patients and their health care providers can access key information.

New Veteran Wellbeing Agency opens: From tomorrow a new veteran wellbeing agency will open, providing veterans and their families with a place to go to get support and information.
