Anniversary and Birthday Messages

Bean constituents celebrating a significant birthday or wedding anniversary are eligible to receive a personal message of congratulations from the Prime Minister, Governor-General and/or The Queen.

Who is eligible?

From 50th wedding anniversary 50th wedding anniversary (and every year after)

90th birthday (and every year after)

100th birthday (and every year after)

Prime Minister

Governor-General Yes Yes No 100th birthday and every year after.
The Queen No 60th wedding anniversary and every fifth year after. No 100th birthday and every fifth year after.

Please note - You will need to submit a new request every year. Messages do not get sent automatically.

How to arrange a message

You can arrange an anniversary or birthday message by following these steps:

  1. Gather the necessary documents to support your request
  • For Wedding Anniversaries: a marriage certificate or a or a statutory declaration with the relevant details.
  • For Birthdays: these can be a birth certificate, passport, or a statutory declaration with the relevant details.

Statutory declaration forms are available from any post office, or online from the Attorney-General's Department.

  1. Email your scanned, copied supporting documents along with the details of your request to: [email protected] or visit my office at 205 Anketell Street, Greenway.

When to apply?

You can lodge a request up to two months before the special day.

You can also request a belated message up to one month after the date of the birthday or wedding anniversary has passed.

Where can I have the message sent?

Messages can be posted directly to the recipient or to a care-of address if you are a friend or relative planning it as a surprise message.
