Same job, same pay - If you do the same job as someone else, you should get the same pay. There are worksites across the country where workers do the same job, work the same shifts, but get paid less than their colleagues. Labor will enshrine ‘same job, same pay’ into law.

Labor’s Plan To Reduce Waste And Reinvest In The Australian Public Service - An Albanese Labor Government will abolish the arbitrary staffing cap which has eroded public sector capability, reduced job security and wasted taxpayer funds.

Labor will also reduce wasteful spending on private external labour – which has grown rapidly under the Liberals – by $3 billion over four years.

Labor’s plan also includes nearly $500 million in reinvestment to begin rebalancing and rebuilding the internal capacity and capability of the APS.

This includes 1,080 new, secure frontline service delivery jobs at Services Australia, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and the National Disability Insurance Agency.
