Below is the latest advice and resources from the ACT and Federal Government on health advice and any financial assistance that is currently in place.
The most important things we can do according to the health advice is to get our booster shots and for others who have become eligible, to get vaccinated and to get the second dose. Information on getting a third dose is available on the ACT Government COVID Vaccine website.
Some Canberrans are now eligible for an COVID-19 winter dose.
For the latest information on the COVID-19 situation, including any restrictions in place, case numbers and exposure sites, please visit the ACT Government COVID-19 information website.
Other important sources of official government COVID-19 information include the Australian Government Health website. Keep listening to ABC Radio Canberra and 2CC as they are doing a really good job in keeping us informed. SBS is also providing COVID-19 information in around 60 languages.

Support is now available if you can’t earn an income because you or someone you’re caring for has to self-isolate or quarantine because they have contracted COVID-19. You can find out more about applying for the Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment via the Services Australia website.
The National Debt Helpline provides free and confidential advice to people experiencing financial difficulties on 1800 007 007.
Support for Business extended
The ACT Government is delivering a range of measures to support local business and industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Business Support Grant closed on 7 October however there are other COVID-19 resources currently available from the ACT Government to support Canberra businesses.
Other measures include:
- The food business registration fee waiver has been extended until 30 June 2022. If food business registration has been prepaid for more than one year in advance, an additional 12 months will be added to the licence.
- The outdoor dining permit fee waiver has been extended for another 12 months, until 30 June 2022.
Full three-month fee waiver for liquor licensees
- committing $500,000 for a second round of Amp It Up! later in 2022.
